Asteroid Glider

Asteroid Glider is a retro space shooter. You play as a glider trying to avoid the astroids shot at you. The goal is to survive as long as possible while gliding around the asteroid or just destroying them using your blaster! Try to avoid the rocks, because you'll take damage when they hit you. Yellow rocks are filled with coins and coins mean more points! Try to get health pickups too when you lost too much health.

Asteroid Glider is fully made of pixel art and 8-bit sound. It also uses the Taptic Engine to make the game feel like a classic arcade game! Particles are used to enhance the retro vibe and shading of the top and bottom area is used to make it look like you are playing on your favourite plastic handheld!

Data We Collect

Plex Account Credentials

When you sign in, the app sends your Plex username and password to Plex's authentication service (`plex.tv`) to obtain an authentication token. Your username and password are not stored on your device. The resulting authentication token and your Plex profile thumbnail URL are stored securely in the device's Keychain.

Playback Preferences

Your selected video quality preset (e.g., Original, 4K, 1080p) is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • No analytics or telemetry data
  • No crash reports
  • No location data
  • No personal information beyond what is required for Plex authentication
  • No advertising identifiers or tracking

Third-Party Services

Plex (plex.tv)

The app communicates with Plex services to:

  • Authenticate your account
  • Discover your Plex Media Servers
  • Browse your media libraries
  • Stream video content via HLS transcoding
  • Report playback progress and watch status to your Plex server
  • Search your media libraries

All communication with Plex is governed by Plex's Privacy Policy. The app sends your device's bundle identifier (viggooveres.VGOPlayer) as a client identifier with each request to Plex, as required by the Plex API.

Your Plex Media Server

The app connects directly to your Plex Media Server(s) over your local network or via remote access. Media data, playback progress, and watch history are exchanged directly between the app and your server. The app does not relay this data through any intermediary.

Data Storage and Security

  • Your Plex authentication token is stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption.
  • No data is stored on external servers controlled by the developer.
  • Signing out of the app permanently deletes your stored credentials from the Keychain.

Network Connections

The app allows connections over HTTP (in addition to HTTPS) to support local Plex Media Servers that do not use SSL. No unencrypted connections are made to external services.
